Job Application-SSNMortgage fraud occurs when an applicant lies to a lender in order to obtain a mortgage loan. Lying may consist of communicating something that is untrue or failing to communicate a material fact in connection with the loan application. Mortgage fraud is a wrong that may, under some circumstances, be redressed in both the civil and criminal courts.
